Now I don't know how your company works but at mine, if the company doesn't do well, no one gets bonuses.
So how do AIG executives get bonuses when the company FAILED! Ridiculous!
Now, I don't condone the bonuses, but what's worse is the infantile Congress's reaction to them. I know we have a progressive tax system (although I would prefer a flat one) but we don't have a vindictive one. Our Congress's knee-jerk, ill thought, and poorly executed answer to AIG is a tax of 90%!
Be afraid America, if they can do it to them, they can do it to YOU.

Waves
As you and my millions of readers can tell some of these blogging spats come in waves. I did figure out how to email blogs during work, but I feel guilty about that. So I end up trying to remember all the things I wanted to blog about during the week and getting them down all at once.
Bracketology
How's every one's brackets looking? I lost 8 in the first round, lost 4 of my Sweet Sixteen before Saturday...not my best year but not my worst either.
I do have new found respect for the Cleveland State Vikings.

Productive Day
Got a lot done today.
I got a wedding band for the big day. Picked out a tux (Ashley and I went back and forth on the color of my tie and vest...you know who won that one, she did) and narrowed our first dance music down to four or five options.
So I've been much more productive than I thought I would be today.

Thank You Former Mr. President
Did my taxes last night, and W.'s tax system was still in place. Gotta love it!
Little worried about next year....

The Parade
Another year, another parade, another day that was fun, crazy, and little hazy....
Soooo this year Ashley made me promise no flasks, no bourbon, at least not at 10AM. Thankfully, a thoughtful member of our crew who will remain nameless to protect her identity (I'll call her "Coach") was charitable enough to offer me some of hers. I remained true to my word and Ashley has been with me 100% more St. Patrick's Day Parades than any other woman. I hope she know how special she is. :)
I do love Bloody Marys.....

One good turn.....
So obviously Ashley went with me to see Watchmen this weekend. And although she is not what you would call a "comic fan," she did appear to enjoy, or so I was told.
Because relationships are all about compromise I was encouraged to make the following deal for her active participation this weekend:
Because relationships are all about compromise I was encouraged to make the following deal for her active participation this weekend:
- 3 chick flicks in the theater
- 4 chick flicks purchased on DVD
- Flowers
Already took care of one, saw Confessions of a Shopaholic this weekend. I don't think I'll ever let Ashley go to the mall by herself again......
Thanks Keith
Many thanks to Keith of Keith's Comics in Dallas.
We attended his opening night showing of Watchmen this Friday night at the Studio Movie Grill and he puts on one hell of a show. Even though I know Keith had little to do with the production of the movie itself (which was a phenomenal living representation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' groundbreaking book, a true genre creating work of fiction) his little touches made the night more memorable than the regular movie going experience.
Giveaways, drawings, and a 30+ minute trailer reel of all the movies us geeks want to see this summer - Star Trek, Wolverine, Terminator, Transformers, G.I. Joe, and the list goes on an on....
So thanks Keith, I'll see you Wednesdays!
