Defection

So Senator Specter left to join the Dems yesterday...I'm fine with that being a moderate Dem myself (like some who still voted for McCain and has contributed to Lieberman's campaigns before).  I'm a big fan of the moderates who are hated by both the far left on MSNBC and the far right of talk radio.

Now I know the Democratic establishment is very happy about the possibility of a 60 seat super majority in the Senate (if Franken is finally elected, let him, he'll show himself to be a buffoon in two days...), but what they don't see is that now the Senator can dip in to those Democratic Senatorial war chests, and he only has to vote with them half the time (which he does already).

Either way, I'm glad there was a story out there other than the swine flu epidemic (SARS: The Sequel?).

Lost

OK, so last week I was a little confused by the abrupt disturbance in the time-space continuum (Doc Brown would be going insane!), but it looks like they'll have it covered.

Great season this year. Love the story lines, but it's one of those seasons where you have no idea which character to root for....

Except Sawyer. He's a bad ass.

France

Off to Paris this weekend for work, should be fun. I've never been off of the North American continent so this will be interesting.

It is for work but I should get to see the sights some. Ashley gave me her camera to take some pics....so I guess I HAVE to be a tourist, at least for a little while.

GM

Still can't get it through my head that the President can fire the CEO of GM.

It just doesn't make any sense. Mr. Waggoner, I wish you could have just accepted bankruptcy, restructured on your own terms, and not add to this Marxist nightmare by stepping aside.
